Description

Global Neighborhood Thrift & Vintage is more than just a store; it’s a lifeline for our neighbors who have come to Spokane as refugees. Through our sustainable, accessible thrift and vintage store, we provide pathways to employment, offering job training, income, and a supportive community that empowers refugees to rebuild their lives in the U.S.

Our textile grading operations are a cornerstone of this mission, turning America’s excess into meaningful employment opportunities for former refugees. By repurposing and upcycling textiles, we address two critical challenges: providing work for those in need and reducing environmental harm.

We acknowledge the profound connection between global climate change and refugee flight. The displacement experienced by our employees is often a direct consequence of environmental degradation and conflict exacerbated by climate change. At Global Neighborhood Thrift & Vintage, we believe that the well-being of our employees cannot be separated from the health of our planet. That’s why we are committed to promoting sustainability in everything we do.

Through our textile grading operations, we not only divert waste from landfills but also contribute to a circular economy that conserves resources and mitigates the impacts of climate change. Every item we salvage and repurpose represents a step toward a more sustainable future—one where economic opportunity and environmental stewardship go hand in hand.

Your Support: Creating a Lasting Impact

By supporting our textile grading operations, you are making a direct investment in both people and the planet. Your contribution helps us expand our operations, create more jobs for refugees, and enhance our impact on the environment and community.

Together, we can transform excess into opportunity, waste into work, and challenges into meaningful change.
