About Seattle Chainstitch Massacre

Products and Services

Description

Seattle Chainstitch Massacre (SCM) is a small-business based in Seattle that creates chainstitched wearables and other pieces. We currently take custom orders and host pop-up, in-person events throughout the Seattle metro area. Also, horror movies rule, and we couldn’t resist paying homage to one with the name.

Seattle Chainstitch Massacre uses chainstitch embroidery, a technique that uses looped stitches to form a chain. In our case, we use a Singer 114w103 industrial sewing machine from the 1930s to do this. Because this kind of embroidery is done by hand, each piece is unique. This is unlike computerized embroidery, which is uniform from piece to piece.
